What should I be doing right now?

(1) Attend every Sunday mass as well as the 2-4 required masses per year (Christmas, Easter, etc.).

(2) Make frequent visits to the Blessed Sacrament and engage in mental dialogue with Jesus.

(3) Make a commitment and consacrate to Jesus through Mary. Consacrate to Jesus through Saint Joseph. Consacrate to the Heart of Jesus. Wear the brown scapular.

(4) Go to confession as often as possible. Recall past sins in detail, meditate on sin, and you will start remembering even more sins. Confess those too, even if they seem trivial. Confessions are mini-excorcisms.

(5) Get the "Anointment of the Sick" from a priest if you have a bodily sickness.

(6) Every day, pray the Rosary; and the Chaplet of Reparation, often.

(7) Pray the Liturgy of the Hours every day, at least the morning and evening prayers.

(8) Pray to Jesus at 3 pm. On the first Thursday of the month, from 11 p.m. to midnight, recall Jesus' Passion. On the first Saturday of the month, recall Mary's sorrowful mysteries. On the first Wednesday of the month, remember Saint Joseph.

(9) Give thanks to God before each meal, and fast for a good cause.

(10) Read Scriptures and spiritual books written by bishops, cardinals, popes, nuns, saints, and priests. Books written outside the Holy Orders usually have a negative undertone, are self-promoting, and most of them create divisions.

(11) Regardless of human opinion, your focus should be on the Cross, Mary, and church sacraments.

(12) Surround yourself with people that do not see the Catholic church as a negative influence.

(13) Modern Physics has already answered two of the three most difficult questions asked about God in the Bible (via string theory creation and time/space dilation), and genetic hereditary discoveries will undoubtedly match the Bible in the near future, in contradiction to today's assumptions. So, don't drop your faith based on a Lancet/Science article of the day.

(14) Keep holy water in your home and religious articles around you to remind you who you belong to.

(15) Donate to Catholic charities and missions to promote Catholic values according to the Gospels; because you want people to be saved by truths, not made-up lies.

(16) Look for Christ in the poor, sick, and imprisoned, and assist them. They'll pray for your salvation. Don't help people just to appear saintly before others.

(17) Don't waste food, do not promote divorce, and stand against abortion and euthanasia. Seek an annulment and marry through the Catholic Church if needed. Contraception is a sin, opt for the natural way.

(18) Participate in pilgrimages and retreats to deepen your faith and receive graces.

(19) Be loving, humble, meek, and obedient. Imitate Christ, and avoid sin.

A reminder by Roman Catholic priest Fr. Zlatko Sudac: What is considered sin?

Mary and Jesus said to Saint Bridget of Sweden (1360),

People do not consider that the least little sin a man finds delight in is enough to damn him to an eternal torment, and that God does not let the least little sin go unpunished, just like he does not let the least little good deed go unrewarded...Hide no sin! Leave nothing unexamined! Do not consider any sin to be light or worthy of disregard! For anything you forget, I[Jesus] will remind you of and judge.None of the sins you have done will come before my judgment if they are punished and expiated through your penance while you live. But those sins for which you made no penance will be purged either in purgatory or by some secret judgment of mine, unless you make a full satisfaction and amendment for them here in the world.
...
If he knows that anyone in his household is in the state of mortal sin and has not repented despite both lenient and strong admonishments, then he should separate himself from him and disown him. Otherwise, if he retains him out of convenience and worldly partiality, he will not be immune from the other's sin.

Book: The Prophecies and Revelations of Saint Bridget (Birgitta) of Sweden: Volume 1 by Saint Bridget

After completion of the above, Saint Jerome, in 378, warned us about pride,

I blush to say it, but from the caves which serve us for cells we monks of the desert condemn the world. Rolling in sack-cloth and ashes, we pass sentence on bishops. What use is the robe of a penitent if it covers the pride of a king? Chains, squalor, and long hair are by right tokens of sorrow, and not ensigns of royalty. I merely ask leave to remain silent...it is preferable, they say, to live among wild beasts rather than with Christians such as these...God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me and I unto the world.

Book: The Principal Works of St. Jerome by Saint Jerome

How can I be a humble Christian? Pray like this (Litany of Humility by Cardinal Val),

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me. From the desire of being esteemed, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being loved, Deliver me, Jesus. From the desire of being extolled, Deliver me, Jesus. From the desire of being honored, Deliver me, Jesus. From the desire of being praised, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being preferred to others, Deliver me, Jesus. From the desire of being consulted, Deliver me, Jesus. From the desire of being approved, Deliver me, Jesus. From the fear of being humiliated, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being despised, Deliver me, Jesus. From the fear of suffering rebukes, Deliver me, Jesus. From the fear of being calumniated, Deliver me, Jesus. From the fear of being forgotten, Deliver me, Jesus.

From the fear of being ridiculed, Deliver me, Jesus. From the fear of being wronged, Deliver me, Jesus. From the fear of being suspected, Deliver me, Jesus. That others may be loved more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. That others may be esteemed more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That, in the opinion of the world, others may be loved more than I, others may increase and I may decrease, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. That others may be chosen and I set aside, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may be praised and I unnoticed, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. That others may be preferred to me in everything, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it. Amen.

Do not focus on end-of-times self-serving nonsense like this :

There is a lot out there that can turn our focus away from service to our neighbor on Jesus' behalf.
